Calgary International Film Festival
Aldona B Creative began working with the Calgary International Film Festival in 2020, leading publicity for the organization’s first-ever hybrid festival. That year, our campaign generated 52% more media coverage than the previous festival, securing notable local and national placements including The Globe and Mail, CBC Radio, Global Television, CTV, and National Post, among many others.
Since then, we have completed six festivals as CIFF’s PR team, expanding our role to include media partnerships, digital advertising, and year-round communications support. Each year, our publicity efforts continue to grow, helping share the stories of the festival and the filmmakers who bring it to life.
Red carpet and festival highlights have included:
2025 – CIFF Day One Red Carpet with Special guests Big Naked, Peter Driscoll and Adam Scorgie.
2025 – CIFF Centrepiece Gala Red Carpet, Featuring Diana Matheson, Christine Sinclair and Director Michele Hozer.
2024 – Opening Night Gala Red Carpet with Guests Leslie Grace, Director Elliot Lester
CIFF’s 25th Anniversary Special Screening of the Tragically Hip Documentary, with Guests Mike Downie, Bryn Hughes and Jake Gold
Special Experience event with Tegan and Sara for the West Coast premiere of High School
An industry appreciation screening of The Last of Us featuring special guest Gabriel Luna.
Additional premieres and special events have included the 250th episode premiere of Heartland and the world premiere of Vivek Shraya’s How to Fail as a Popstar.
