Spring Style Presentation at The Natural Art of Skincare

I have loved fashion for as long as I can remember - dressing up, putting things together, accessorizing, beauty - I love it all!
I've been working as a stylist for over 20 years now, and it has ranged from personal styling, to retail, photography and street style, and now, to fashion presentations (Scarlet Sessions) where I hope to inspire women to live authentically through their personal styles.
Doing this is even more impactful and important to me since I've had the pleasure of partnering up with some incredible local businesses to bring Scarlet Sessions to life - and this round, it was all about joining forces with my friends at The Natural Art of Skincare!

I once again featured three amazing local boutiques - Bamboo Ballroom, Salvedge Boutique and Blondie Boutique - where I pulled and put together some really cute Spring/Summer options. But it wasn't just about the original looks that I put together - I really wanted to showcase and inspire the audience to re-imagine the looks by styling them in different ways. It's so easy to fall into the routine of wearing something the same way each time you wear it, while there is so much potential and imagination that you can tap into.

I naturally gravitated to a lot of stripes and bold colour, but also integrated some stunning neutrals that would play well in most closets. It's great to have some basic and neutral pieces in your closet to play around with. That being said, there's no reason why your bold pieces can't get as much play, so I showed how something bold can also be re-styled in various ways.

One of my favourite looks, and the first one I shared, was this incredible romper from Blondie Boutique, topped with a cropped red jacket. I added some pattern with a printed clutch, and other fun accessories to really bring this look to life.

The best part was that I then changed up the look dramatically by removing the belt, changing the topper and swapping accessories.

A great way to play with colour is to add it to your bottoms and shoes, and keep the top a bit more neutral. I love stripes, so this simple t-shirt was a great option, but then I also shoes this look with a basic navy camisole. We also added a denim jacket and changed the shoes for a different feel. I always love rocking a bold lip with any outfit!

A more neutral palette always inspires me to go bold with accessories - in this case, a statement necklace, big sunglasses and cool printed slides.

Polka dots are super hot for the season, and I love adding pops of red to bring a black and white outfit to life.

Even when you choose to invest in a piece that is super bold or a colour you normally wouldn't wear, don't fret - there's still much room to play!
